Turf Feeding Systems launches affordable golf program
Turf Feeding Systems (TFS), a Houston-based fertigation system manufacturer, has launched an affordable golf program for public golf courses across the United States.
Michael Chaplinsky, the company’s president and founder, said in a news release that his goal is to create quality affordable golf at public golf courses through sustainability.
“I love municipal public golf courses because they have limited budgets and labor, and have little hope to become a great golf course. However, I can improve any course within their budget, make the biggest change and create affordable golf,” Chaplinsky says. “[The] sustainable golf program can reduce water use up to 50 percent and reduce fertilizer and chemicals 60 percent while improving the overall quality.”
TFS plans to launch three case studies on sustainable and affordable golf at public golf courses. The first case study will take place at Boiling Springs Golf Course in Woodward, Okla. TFS is working with Jeff Wagner, the course’s superintendent, to create high quality golf on a municipal public golf course.
Chaplinsky is working with Golfdom‘s editor-in-cheif Seth Jones to monitor this case study. Golfdom plans to help TFS find two other municipal golf courses to include in the case study. Results of the case studies are planned to be published next year.
