Ron Jaworski Golf (RJG) — along with partners Ken Kochenour, Ira Lubert and Joe Williamson — has acquired Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Pa.

The 6,619-yard, par-72 golf course was designed by George Fazio and built between 1965 and 1967. Fazio, the uncle of modern course architect Tom Fazio, was a runner-up to Ben Hogan in the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club (Pa.), and the touring professional out of Pine Valley Golf Club (N.J.) for a number of years.

downingtowncc3_paDowningtown CC also is a popular venue for weddings, banquets and dining. Winner of Wedding Wire’s Brides Choice 2013 and Couples’ Choice 2014 and 2015, the venue accommodates up to 300 guests.

downingtowncc2_paKen Kochenour is the founder of GF Management, which will be working side by side with RJG in the management of the event space and restaurant. GF Management is a Philadelphia based company with more than 25 years of experience operating hotels, resorts and banquet facilities.

Mike Faga, a Class-A member of GCSAA, has been superintendent of the course since 2002.

“We are very proud to add Downingtown to our outstanding collection of courses under the Ron Jaworski Golf umbrella,” says Ron Jaworski. “We invite all golfers to experience the golf course and take advantage of the many affordable membership and daily fee options available.”

Downingtown joins five other courses owned and operated by Ron Jaworski Golf (RJG): Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Galloway Township, N.J.; Honey Run Golf Club in York, Pa.; River Winds Golf & Tennis Club in West Deptford, N.J.; Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, N.J.; and Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood, N.J.
