Blended fertilizer producer and chemical and grass seed distributor Harrell’s, LLC announced this week it will move its warehouse and distribution facilities from Norway, S.C., to Charlotte, N.C., this summer.

According to Matt Shook, Harrell’s vice president of sales and marketing, South, whereas the Norway facility has operated primarily as a fertilizer distribution point, the new warehouse and distribution center is a 20,000-square-foot full-service facility that will produce Harrell’s complete line of fertilizer and pesticides from major manufacturers such as Bayer, Syngenta, BASF and Dow. “This move is intended to increase our service level for those accounts located in the Carolinas, Tenneseee and Georgia,” Shook said.

Bill Chichwak, site manager of Harrell’s Whitestown, Ind., location, will take the lead in Charlotte. To address customers’ needs at the new site, Shook said, Harrell’s plans to hire about 15 warehouse, delivery, inventory and customer service workers. The company will add more jobs as needed based on the volume of business.
