Global Turf Equipmentlogo (GTE) has named Rocky Lackey its new service manager.

Lackey has been an expert mechanic and iron worker for more than 25 years. He most recently was senior manager of golf and grounds equipment maintenance at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. As leader of a four-person team, he was responsible for maintaining the 1,800-acre, 54-hole facility’s fleet of machinery. His notable achievements include negotiating an equipment package that saved the resort nearly a quarter of a million dollars, as well as a myriad of accolades for outstanding job performance.

“Rocky’s addition further evidences how serious we are about building an extremely talented team to service our customers,” says Jim Sartain, president of GTE. “He is an expert on all types of machinery and will play a key role in ensuring our pre-owned equipment is fully functional when it rolls out of our state-of-the-art warehouses.”

Based near Tampa, Fla., GTE showcases about 750 “like new” machines from brands such as Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen and Club Car.
