GCSAA: EPA extends Nemacur use to Oct. 6, 2017
The GCSAA announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted the association’s request for an extension on the use of fenamiphos – Nemacur nematicide – existing stocks labeled for use on golf courses until Oct. 6, 2017. The EPA plans to publish a notice in the Federal Register to this effect on Oct. 1 or Oct. 3, according to the GCSAA.
Nemacur is used to control a wide variety of nematode pests. On Oct. 5, 2011, The EPA announced on the Federal Register that any existing Nemacur supplies should be used or legally disposed of by Oct. 6, 2014.
