The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted federal registration for PBI-Gordon’s Kabuto SC Fungicide for use in the treatment of spring dead spot (SDS) in warm-season turfgrass.

“Spring dead spot is, without a doubt, the most severe disease for warm-season turfgrasses, such as bermudagrass,” said Jim Goodrich, fungicide product manager for PBI-Gordon. “Extensive university and end-user testing has repeatedly shown that Kabuto SC Fungicide outperforms competitive products in the effective treatment of SDS.”

Labeled for use on golf courses, sports fields and residential and commercial turf, Kabuto is a formulation for the preventative control of SDS and the preventative and curative control of dollar spot (including control of carboxamide-resistant dollar spot). It inhibits all stages of development in the fungal lifecycle and can be applied up to eight times per year as part of a resistance management program.

According to PBI-Gordon, other features of Kabuto Fungicide SC features a flowable (suspension concentrate) formulation and is listed in FRAC (Fungicide Resistance Action Committee) Group 7.
