Envu adds new fungicide to treat difficult turfgrass diseases

Envu has announced the addition of Tarvecta fungicide to its turf management portfolio. Designed for use on golf courses, athletic fields, sod farms and commercial lawns, Tarvecta aims to help turf professionals prevent and control a range of soil-borne diseases that threaten turf health and playability, particularly during periods of summer stress.
Tarvecta combines two active ingredients — fluoxastrobin and flutriafol — to deliver broad-spectrum disease control. Fluoxastrobin is absorbed rapidly by turfgrass, while flutriafol moves quickly through the plant’s xylem, providing internal protection against new fungal growth and forming a protective barrier. This dual-action approach is intended to offer fast-acting, reliable control of diseases, according to the company.
According to James Hempfling, Ph.D., of Envu’s Green Solutions Team, disease outbreaks often coincide with peak play and high stress on turfgrass.
“Whether managing a sports field or a golf course, disease damage disrupts turfgrass playability. That’s why preventive practices are crucial. Tarvecta can be applied proactively ahead of stressful periods to protect against infection or curatively to ensure rapid recovery,” Hempfling said.
Tarvecta is rainfast within two hours of application and can be tank-mixed to address high-pressure disease scenarios. For those establishing new turf or overseeding, Tarvecta can be applied before or after seeding, offering flexibility during critical growth phases.
