Course of the Week: Glenmoor Country Club to receive first major reconstruction in 35 years
Love Golf Design started construction on Glenmoor CC, Cherry Hills Village, Colo., on Aug. 1, after 35 years of no substantial upgrades.
Pete, Alice and Perry Dye designed and built the 18-hole course in 1985. The Love Golf Design team said it will handle the planning, design and oversight of construction.
The project includes:
- A new irrigation water source and system
- Replacement of two miles of aged railroad tie bulkheads
- New greens
- Upgraded bunkers
- Additional length
- Tee upgrades
- Cart path improvements
- Reintroduction of lost bunkers
“What a unique Pete Dye design,” Mark Love, founder and president of Love Golf Design, said. “We are so pleased to help preserve and upgrade Pete’s unique course.”
The company said the goal of the course is to be more challenging for the high-level player while being more playable for the members and guests. The maintenance staff is also committed to upgrading the maintenance standards to improve the golf experience overall.
