Bird-X explores bird control needs in the golf industry

After attending the Golf Industry Show in San Diego, Bird-X, a company that provides humane pest and bird control solutions, found out how important bird control could be to golf course superintendents, the company says in a recent blog post.

In the post, Bird-X went on to call out the number one pest bird on golf courses: the Canada goose. Canada geese congregate around ponds and lakes, and have been known to produce around a pound each of droppings per day, costing golf courses thousands of dollars in clean-up and maintenance.

To combat this, Bird-X has a recommendation for superintendents.

Earlier this year, Bird-X debuted its new autonomous ProHawk UAV drone—the first of its class made specifically for bird control.

Dennis Tilles, Bird-X President, stated that Bird-X is expanding into the agriculture and viticulture industries, but continues to consider other markets where bird control products would be valuable to clients.

“With the ProHawk UAV drone, it became even more apparent that effective pest bird control should be a key operational management solution for all market segments,” said Tilles. “Pest bird management is quickly arriving at the forefront of facility and agricultural planning.”
