  1. Robert Jones says:

    Shawn,

Congratulations on receiving the much deserved 2021 Golf Anuvia Legend Award from Golfdom Magazine. On behalf of your raving fans and past partners, you are simply the best! I have never in my 40-year career as a General Manager / President worked with such an outstanding, talented, and dedicated master in golf course agronomy. Your leadership and coaching of the staff around you daily underwrite this award’s meaning as a true Legend.

None has ever built and managed 7 golf courses with over 160,000+ rounds annually with such refinement, quality, expertise, and dedication to the game of golf.

Thank you to Anuvia and Golfdom Magazine for recognizing Shawn Micheal Emerson and his contributions to our industry.

    Sincerely,

    Robert (Bob) Jones

Congrats, proud to call you my friend. Well deserved and earned. Thanks for sharing your great insight and wisdom. As a fellow second generation superintendent its in our DNA.

  3. Jon Scott says:

When I was a young superintendent in the Washington DC Metro area, I got to know Shawn’s dad, Bill, when he was at Chevy Chase. I met Shawn as a young boy when Bill would bring him to the Mid-Atlantic and Washington Metro superintendent meetings. It was clear then as it is now that the apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree. Congratulations to Shawn for receiving this recognition and reward. I know that Bill is smiling down from above.

  4. Mike Scaletta says:

Favorite Bill Emerson phrase (from Shawn): “Two things that are bad for your heart: running up hills. And running down people.” Congrats Shawn!
