BASF unveils panel lineup, special events for GIS 2019

At the 2019 Golf Industry Show, the BASF booth (#1939) will feature giveaways, an Inside the Science Virtual Reality experience, live education from industry professionals and a BASF punching machine that lets you see how your power matches up to powerful BASF solutions.

Here’s a rundown of events taking place during this year’s show.

Feb. 6

Breakfast Tacos | 10–11 a.m. 
San Diego is taco heaven and the team at BASF will be serving up some fresh breakfast tacos.

Panel: Exploring New Fungicide Technology | 11 a.m.
Join Rick Latin, Ph.D., Purdue University; Bruce Martin, Ph.D., Clemson University; Jim Kerns, Ph.D., N.C. State University; and BASF’s Kathie Kalmowitz as they put their respective Ph.D.’s together to predict what the future will hold for fungicide technology.

Panel: Surviving (thriving!) During a Course Reno | 1 p.m.
How do superintendents keep their cool during the inevitable course renovation? Hear from John Zimmers, Inverness Club; Justin DePippo, Bel-Air Country Club; Mike McCormick, The Apawamis Club; and Rich McIntosh, Torrey Pines Golf Courses discuss their experiences and how to survive – even thrive – during a renovation.

Panel: Celebrating 10 years of plant health | 3 p.m.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Intrinsic brand family of fungicides and Bruce Martin, Ph.D., Clemson University; Eric Richardson, Essex County Club; Jeff Corcoran, Oak Hill Country Club; and BASF’s Kathie Kalmowitz will discuss great moments in plant health over the past decade.

Happy Hour | 4–5 p.m.

Feb. 7

Breakfast Tacos | 10–11 a.m. 
BASF will be bringing tacos back for a second day as well. Visit the booth to grab a taco or two before you start your day at GIS.

Panel: Controlling the Toughest Diseases | 11 a.m.
BASF’s Jen Browning joins James Baird, Ph.D., from UC Riverside and Josh Lewis from Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club to discuss latest trends and research.

Drawing for the BASF Gator Giveaway! | 12 p.m.
