Syngenta is now accepting applications for its seventh annual Syngenta Business Institute (SBI), to be held Dec. 7-10 in Winston-Salem, N.C. SBI is a partnership between Syngenta and Wake Forest University School of Business that provides superintendents with heightened business and managerial skills.

Applications are due by Aug. 18.

Selected participants will learn business management practices from Wake Forest faculty such as financial management, managing generational and cultural differences, delegation skills, effective communication and negotiation tactics. To be considered, candidates must complete the application, which includes an essay on why they should be selected, relevant professional experience and educational background.

“The Syngenta Business Institute was the most beneficial educational event that I have attended in my career,” says Jason Busch, superintendent at The Powder Horn Golf Community in Sheridan, Wy. “Shortly upon returning from SBI, I was able to apply much of the knowledge I learned, and I look forward to working with our assistant superintendents to further develop our team.”

Syngenta receives more than 80 applications annually, and approximately 25 superintendents are chosen to attend the program.
