Amvac appoints Bob Trogele to COO, executive VP

American Vanguard named Ulrich (Bob) Trogele, Ph.D., to chief operating officer (COO) and executive vice president of its principal operating subsidiary, Amvac Chemical, effective immediately.

In this position, Trogele will focus on growing the business across multiple product lines and geographies. As COO, he will oversee sales, marketing and business development on a global basis.

Over the past 28 years, Trogele has worked in positions of increasing responsibility within the agribusiness sectors of agrichemicals, biotechnology and plant nutrition, culminating with ten years at FMC, where he served most recently as president – Asia Pacific and, for several years prior, as North American area director of its agricultural solutions business.

He has a passion for giving back and delivers that passion through speaking to groups about leadership and global business trends, teaching at the university level, serving as a board member for key industry associations in different countries, such as CropLife America and Agricultural Retailers Association, and his involvement in various community- based charitable activities.
