United Turf Alliance launches sprayable iron polysaccharide

By and |  June 10, 2013

United Turf Alliance has introduced Optimizer Sweet Iron, a sprayable iron polysaccharide product. It is ideal for use on golf courses, sports turf and commercial and residential lawns.

Applied at a lower rate than traditional iron products, it and boosts turfgrass color, enhances nutrient uptake and improves overall plant health by enabling both foliar and root absorption of the product by turfgrass plants, according to the company.

Optimizer Sweet Iron combines a water-soluble form of iron with a complex natural polysaccharide to deliver residual color without the use of urea. It also contains plant-available amino acids to promote the optimum plant metabolism required for efficient nutrient uptake and utilization. It feeds and stimulates soil microbial populations as the polysaccharide breaks down.

A one-gallon container of the product may treat the same area as 10 gallons of other iron products because it is applied at the labeled rate of 12 to 16 oz. per acre, the company said.
