Troon, a club management, development and marketing company, will manage Woodland Hills Country Club, a private club located in Woodland Hills, Calif.

Honours Golf; a division of Troon, will manage The Refuge Golf Course, a daily-fee/resort course located in Flowood, Miss. Troon has also been selected to manage Red Hawk Golf and Resort, a semiprivate facility located in Sparks, Nev., and Old Overton Club, a private club located in Vestavia Hills, Ala.

Here’s more information about these courses:

Woodland Hills Country Club

Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will oversee Woodland Hills Country Club’s golf, club and food & beverage operations, as well as golf course agronomy and membership marketing.

Located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains in the west San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills Country Club is located minutes from Los Angeles, northern Los Angeles County and east Ventura County. With a rich history dating back to 1925, Woodland Hills features a William “Billy” Bell Sr.-designed golf course. The par 70 layout is known for quick rounds; fast greens; narrow, oak tree-lined fairways; and for being fun and easy to walk. The course has hosted several regional and USGA sectional tournaments, including the Western Regional for the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship, qualifying for the USGA Junior Amateur Championship and qualifying for the California State Senior Amateur Championship.

In addition to golf, Woodland Hills Country Club also includes a 28,000 square-foot clubhouse with a main dining room, multiple event spaces, men’s and ladies’ locker rooms and a golf shop

The Refuge Golf Course

The Refuge Golf Course is currently in the final phase of a three-year renovation and development project and is expected to reopen for play this fall.

The Refuge originally opened for play in 1998 and quickly gained acclaim as one of the top public golf courses in the state of Mississippi. The golf course was closed for a complete renovation in 2018 and has remained closed since that time. Work on the new Sheraton at The Refuge resort and conference center and a new golf operations building is expected to be completed this fall.

Roy Case designed the original 7,000-yard layout, while golf course architect Nathan Crace oversaw the recent 18-hole course renovation, which included a new irrigation system, tree removal, new cart paths and regrassing. The golf course is routed through stands of towering pines and centuries-old oaks, while preserving the natural habitat and wildlife found throughout the property.

Located adjacent to the golf course, the 10-story, 200-room Sheraton at The Refuge will feature multiple dining options, a medspa, cooking school, rooftop bar, resort pool, lazy river, and a 54,000 square-foot conference center.  Golf operations, including a pro shop and 19th hole food and beverage venue, will be located in the resort’s southwest corner.

Red Hawk Golf and Resort

Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee operations division of Troon, will oversee Red Hawk’s golf operations, agronomy, lodging, sales and marketing, as well as the property’s food and beverage operations.

Red Hawk Golf and Resort features two 18-hole golf courses: The Lakes Course, which opened in 1997, and The Hills Course, which opened for play in 2005. The Lakes Course is a 7,410-yard Robert Trent Jones Jr. design that winds through natural lakes and mature cottonwood trees. Meanwhile, the par-71, 7,106-yard Hills Course is a Hale Irwin design known for its small greens, dramatic elevation changes and big sky views.

Through Red Hawk’s semiprivate designation, the club is open to full golf members, daily-fee play, annual pass holders, group events and resort guests. The Villas at Red Hawk, a collection of nine suites of varying sizes, provide lodging alternative to Reno’s casinos while allowing guests effortless access to the property’s golf, event, banquet, food and beverage and fitness facilities.

Old Overton Club

Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will oversee Old Overton Club’s golf, club, food and beverage operations as well golf course agronomy and membership marketing.

Established in 1993, Old Overton Club features an 18-hole Jerry Pate and Tom Fazio-designed golf course. The par-71, 7,200-yard course has been described as “being cut from the rocky terrain to transcend its surroundings.”
