All 18 holes are now open for play and the redesigned course offers a number of challenging new holes on an undulating property with elevated views of Westchester County’s scenic woodlands. The course was originally designed by Albert Zikouras and has been a part of the private club for almost 60 years. The Rees Jones’ redesign included renovation to all bunkers, the rebuilding of all fairways, many new tee boxes and the conversion of all greens to bentgrass. There were also changes made to the landscape around the course including the takedown of over 400 trees.

“We are pleased with the responses we have heard from the golfers and how much they are enjoying the changes and improvements to The Summit Club at Armonk,” said Rees Jones. “Our objective was to bring the golf experience to a level that complements the natural beauty of the site and stunning views of the countryside.”

The Summit Club at Armonk course is 6,700 yards from the back tees with a par of 71. The most significant course improvement includes three new holes on the back nine coupled with the rebuilding of greenside bunkers along with the adjustment of some bunker locations to give players additional shot options. Several greens complexes were added in order to provide new greenside chipping areas and a number of landing zones were created on a few holes to improve their playability. The golf range and practice facilities also were upgraded and a new short game area is now accessible.

“The Summit Club at Armonk represents a visionary rebranding of the traditional country club environment and will appeal to new members as ‘the golf lifestyle reimagined,” said Jeffrey B. Mendell, managing partner.

Summit Club at Armonk said the club will be managed by an experienced team that has spent a combined century-plus in the private club industry.
