The best of Harold Ramis

Sad to hear the news of Harold Ramis’ passing. The guy is directly responsible for two of my favorite movies of all time: Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.

And of course he’s most celebrated in our industry for being the brains behind Caddyshack. I love that movie too, but as far as Ramis movies go, I just think Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day are nearly perfect.

My favorite Ramis line, from Ghostbusters: “Print is dead.” Maybe because I’m in the journalism business and he uttered this years before the internet.

But of course I have to tip my cap to this scene from Caddyshack about the Dalai Lama. “Big hitter, long…”
