The Andersons gets ninth dispersible granule patent

By and |  June 6, 2013

The Andersons Inc.’s Turf & Specialty Group has been issued its ninth U.S. patent related to dispersing granule technology.

The company markets this technology under the Contec DG, Nutri DG, DGLite, Humic DG, and Biomend DG brands, which are designed to deliver nutrients and pest control chemicals directly into the soil.

The technology works when each granule of the product makes contact with water and then disperses into thousands of micro particles that move directly into the root zone. The dispersible granule is designed to eliminate problems with run-off and mechanical pick up, which decreases loss of efficiency, according to the company.

“We continue to invest in technology that provides solutions for our customers in the U.S. and internationally” said Chuck Anderson, director of Professional Products for the company’s Turf & Specialty Group. “This also positions us for future growth by serving new and future customers in the turf, agriculture and horticulture markets with a proprietary, premium, product offering.”
