Textron Specialized Vehicles launched its Hauler 800 ELiTE electric utility vehicle, powered by Samsung SDI lithium technology.

“The proven success of our innovative ELiTE series enables us to expand lithium technology into the utility segment of our products,” said Michael Parkhurst, vice president, Golf & Turf North America for Textron Specialized Vehicles, which designs and manufactures Cushman vehicles. “Superintendents have been asking for lithium vehicles to help maintain their facilities, and the new Hauler 800 ELiTE series will deliver the performance, energy and cost savings required to make their operations more efficient.”

Hauler 800 ELiTE vehicles are equipped with zero-maintenance lithium batteries that don’t require watering, terminal post checkups or cleaning. The vehicles feature an ergonomic dash, offering storage for clipboards, radios and other tools. The flexible bed can be customized to securely carry the equipment and materials needed for the task at hand. Backed by a five-year battery warranty, the machine provides up to 900 pounds of towing capacity and faster recharge times.

ELiTE vehicles can charge in half the time and require less out-of-the-wall power than lead-acid batteries, and the batteries are half the size and a fraction of the weight of lead-acid batteries, according to the company.
