Tetrino insecticide now available from Bayer

The Turf and Ornamentals business of Bayer released Tetrino, an insecticide for white grub and annual bluegrass weevil control featuring the new active ingredient tetraniliprole.

Brad Glenn, Ph.D., product manager for Bayer’s U.S. Turf and Ornamentals business, said Tetrino is a better choice because “other options for managing white grub and annual bluegrass weevil on golf courses require multiple products and strict application windows. Tetrino gives superintendents an advantage because it is one complete solution with flexible application timing that provides season-long control of both these problem insects as well as caterpillars, billbugs and a host of other turf-damaging pests.”

Tetrino works quickly to control these problem insects. Absorbed through the roots and shoots of the turf, tetraniliprole causes immediate cessation of insect feeding following exposure for fast results.

In addition to flexible application timing, superintendents can easily incorporate it into other management programs for treating pests like chinch bugs, caterpillars and billbugs. Bayer also priced Tetrino so superintendents can cover more ground on the golf course, including fairways.
