Using less than 10 watts of power, SonicSolutions is algae control without chemicals: It floats just below the surface, fighting algae 24 hours a day.  The device is environmentally friendly and requires little maintenance — with no need to measure and apply chemicals. The device emits ultrasonic waves that “fan out” at approximately 180° from the front of the transducer. The unit provides coverage up to 8 acres, depending on conditions. Units can be used in combination for large installations, and solar units are available. More than 2,000 units are currently in use.
