Smithco vice president Bill Kenney dies

Max “Bill” Kenney Jr., vice president of Smithco died Dec. 1, 2022, in McKinney, Texas. He was 76.

“His kindness and professionalism represent the foundation of family values that our organization has been built upon for the last 55 years,” Smithco said in a statement on Facebook. “His tenure in Smithco’s history and passion within our shared industry will continue to be reflected upon with great pride and rectitude.”

Kenney worked for Smithco for 47 years. Kenney and his wife, Bonny Jean, would visit St. Mark’s Catholic School as Santa and Mrs. Claus during the holiday season.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Kelly, son-in-law Thomas, son Robert and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max William and Alice Murphy Kenney.
