Smithco releases Star Command 3.0
Smithco has introduced the third generation of its Star Command System for Smithco Spray Star platforms. This is Smithco’s ninth year marketing and manufacturing the system.
The Star Command System update has all of TeeJet Technologies’ previous features and includes a choice of GPS accuracy levels using TeeJet’s Aeros 9040 flow control computer. This allows for a one-time permanent creation of boundaries with accuracy up to 5 cm or fewer. Users will need to have an annual subscription for the advanced correction signal using TerraStar-C Pro.
Another benefit includes pulse width modulation of droplet size controlled by TeeJet Technologies DynaJet 7140:
- DynaJet allows for a wide range of application speeds from 3 mph to 10 mph at the same droplet size and pressure;
- The ability to control droplet size separately from both target application rate and speed;
- Dual nozzle bodies that automatically adjust from single to dual flow to expand the flow as needed to maintain the target rate at higher speeds;
- Instant on/off while retaining pressure and droplet size; and
- Booms that measure 15 feet, 18.5 feet, 20 feet or 24 feet with nozzles spaced 20 inches apart and an electric over hydraulic lift/lower of boom wings.
The new Star Command 3.0 includes the following features:
- Virtual, on-screen nozzle control with TeeJet’s computers that allow control for up to 100 nozzle sections that can be controlled individually;
- The incorporated DynaJet system into the Aeros 9040 controller, eliminating extra cabling and a separate controller;
- Turn compensation that corrects flow to keep application rates on target through turns as tight as a 20-foot radius; and
- TerraStar-C Pro improved differential correction signal that can reduce correction convergence time to as little as 90 seconds or less.
Smithco’s Star Command 3.0 is available on Spray Star 1000, Spray Star 1760, Spray Star 2000, Spray Star 3180 and Spray Star 5200.
