PondHawk and The Federal Club celebrate 10th anniversary with special event
Ten years ago, the first PondHawk system was installed on the “green monster” at The Federal Club in Glen Allen, Va. To mark the success, PondHawk by Linne Industries will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of The Federal Club’s installation on June 26 at 11 a.m.
The Federal Club’s pioneering use of PondHawk marked the first-ever installation of this innovative system on any golf course in the United States. Anne Gail Jennings, managing partner of The Federal Club and Ryan Holbrook, golf course superintendent, played key roles in the club’s achievements and environmental initiatives. To honor their commitment, PondHawk is celebrating their leadership in the use of sustainable practices.
The focus of the day will be celebrating the Federal Club’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
“Over the years, the club has implemented numerous green initiatives, from daily moisture readings for water usage management to native areas that require very little inputs and promote wildlife habitats,” said Ryan Holbrook, golf course superintendent. “When combined with our other water management practices, PondHawk has made the Federal Club stand out as a leader in sustainable BMPs.”
