PGA Championship week!

I’m thrilled to be back at Valhalla for the PGA Championship! My first time back to the course since I was invited to speak at the Kentuckiana GCSA meeting here two (three?) years ago.

The course looks great. I’ve only been here for a little while, but I plan to get plenty of shots of the course and the crew at work. Check back often, and follow us on Twitter, to see what I’m seeing.

Like this moment, with U.S. Open champ Martin Kaymer. I happened to be walking up to No. 18 green as he was coming off. I jumped into the media fray to see what the topic was. Of course, course conditions came up.

“Right now the course is fairly easy, the greens are very soft right now. But it won’t stay like this. I think it’ll be very firm by Friday or Saturday.”

Literally minutes after that, I bumped into Rory McIlroy in the player parking lot. He was just getting here so I just shook his hand and congratulated him on his win yesterday.

Not bad timing, though, bumping into Kaymer and then McIlroy back-to-back like that. Let’s hope the good timing keeps up!
