PBI-Gordon hires new sales representative

The employee-owners of PBI-Gordon announced today that Shawn Fopma has joined the company as a sales representative.

“We are excited that Shawn Fopma has joined the PBI-Gordon family of employee-owners,” said Doug Obermann, PBI-Gordon vice president of professional and agricultural sales. “His experience, outstanding work ethic and familiarity with the growing conditions in the Midwest will be a great asset to our customers in Iowa and Nebraska.”

Based in Bondurant, Iowa, he is responsible for PBI-Gordon product sales to golf course and turfgrass management customers in Iowa and Nebraska. Fopma holds a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Iowa State University. During his academic career, he was an intern at Hazeltine National Golf Club during preparations for the 91st PGA Championship in 2009. 

Fopma was most recently the assistant director of the Iowa Turfgrass Institute. While there, he managed day-to-day operations and implementation of the nonprofit association’s strategic plans, membership programs and education programsPrior to that, he was the assistant golf course superintendent of the Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa.
