Giordano has been involved in the turfgrass industry for more than 18 years, developing extensive experience in both applied and basic turfgrass research while working in both public and private golf clubs in the U.S.

After earning his bachelor of science degree in crop and soil sciences, he went on to earn his master’s degree, focusing on plant pathology, and a Ph.D. in plant, soil and microbial sciences from Michigan State University.

After earning his doctorate, Giordano worked for Bayer Environmental Science in Canada, as the company’s technical lead and development coordinator for several years. In this role, he provided technical expertise to golf course turf managers, helped with the transition of new products from development to market and provided scientific thought, leadership and education to the industry.

Harrell’s said Giordano joins a team of agronomists who are focused on testing and developing proprietary products and providing technical support to sales representatives and customers.

“We are excited to add Paul Giordano to our R&D team,” said Jack Harrell III, senior vice president R&D, sales and marketing. “He brings a wealth of industry knowledge and will be a perfect fit to accompany Raymond Snyder, Ph.D., and Jeff Atkinson, Ph.D. We have one Ph.D. whose background is in fertility, one Ph.D. whose background is in weed science and now with Paul, we have a Ph.D. whose background is in plant pathology. We feel that this addition is not just great for the Harrell’s family, but also to continue to serve our customers with cutting edge innovations and solutions.”
