Nufarm renews sponsorship of Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program
To continue providing services to military families and raising awareness for the nationwide initiative, Nufarm has renewed its sponsorship of Project EverGreen‘s GreenCare for Troops program.
A $75,000 check was presented at Project EverGreen’s recent board meeting in Raleigh, N.C. This marks the eighth year Nufarm has been the title sponsor of GreenCare for Troops.
“Nufarm is proud to continue our support of GreenCare for Troops,” Blaine Pinkerton, Nufarm Americas VP of turf and ornamental, said. “This program has impacted hundreds of military families over the years and will continue thanks to the great work of the Project EverGreen team and our partners across the industry.”
GreenCare for Troops, which is celebrating its 18th year in 2024, provides complimentary lawn care and landscape maintenance services to military families with active duty deployed service members. The program is not only helping create healthy, sustainable green spaces across the country but also contributing to the improved social, mental and physical well-being of military families.
Through its nationwide base of volunteers, Project EverGreen has connected people, green spaces and their communities to maximize the health of grass, plants and trees, which in turn sequesters carbon and cleans the air.
Since January 2023, GreenCare for Troops has added nearly 200 new volunteers and more than 1,000 military families to the program. Combined with its sister program, SnowCare for Troops, GreenCare for Troops volunteers deliver lawn care and landscape services valued at $16 million annually to military families across the United States.
Nufarm’s sponsorship will be directed to activities that enhance and expand the program including increased outreach for volunteer recruitment and communications to families, volunteers and the media, as well as adding promotional and logistical resources required to grow the GreenCare for Troops database and serve more military families.
“Nufarm’s incredible ongoing support to this invaluable program is making a significant difference in the lives of military families and contractor volunteers across the country,” said Cindy Code, Project EverGreen executive director. “This ardent support has helped GreenCare for Troops build upon its success and, ultimately, bring safe and healthy yards and landscapes to families in need of relief and peace in a green setting.”
In addition to Nufarm as the title sponsor, platinum partners include Toro, SiteOne Landscape Supply, AmGuard Environmental Technologies, Heritage Landscape Supply Group and Boss Snowplow, and Silver Partner Arborjet/Ecologel. Affiliate partners include the Connecticut Grounds Keepers Association and the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association. The GreenCare for Troops program is endorsed to its membership by the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
