Brad Young, superintendent at Hilton Head National Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C., joined the board of the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association (Carolinas GCSA) as a presidential appointment by president Billy Bagwell, superintendent at Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, S.C.

Young, a Clemson University graduate, spent eight years at Long Cove Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C., before taking the superintendent position at Hilton Head National. Young also spent five years on the board of the Low Country GCSA and served two years as president.

Young fills a seat left vacant by Daniel Knight who has taken a job outside the golf industry, according to the Carolinas GCSA.

Bagwell’s term as president will end at the association’s annual business meeting during the Carolinas GCSA Conference and Trade Show in Myrtle Beach, S.C., from Nov. 14 to 16. Read more about the Carolinas GCSA’s 2021 conference here.

In June, the Carolinas GCSA awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to children and grandchildren of members.
