Minnesota Golf Director passes away at 59
Ridgeview Country Club (Duluth, Minn.) General Manager and Golf Director Steve Anderson passed away Friday after suffering a stroke earlier in the week. He was 59.
A Duluth native, Anderson was well known in the local golf community and had a reputation for being a gentleman. He worked as a golf course manager for 20 years and as a golf professional for nearly as long, clocking time at Cloquet Country Club, Duluth’s Enger Park Golf Course and Lakeview National Golf Course in Two Harbors. He joined the Ridgeview staff three years ago.
Anderson, who throughout this career promoted junior golf, became golf pro in 1993. He worked at Cloquet Country Club for 10 years before moving on to other courses. In his most recent position, he oversaw golf and social management at Ridgeview, while his son filled his shoes as the club’s golf pro and superintendent.
