Michigan governor declares June Michigan Golf Month
Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer recently named June as Golf Month in the state, according to a report from WMMT. The announcement came in conjunction with Michigan Golf Day where golf industry members met with lawmakers in Lansing, Mich.
One of several talking points at the event, according to the report, was House Bill 4305, which WMMT reports, “would require chain businesses to pay their employees if they alter their shift, and give the employee an estimate of what their schedule will look like when hiring them.”
“It’s been a rough start to the summer, it’s been really warm, it’s been really dry, all our members are doing the best they can to keep golf courses alive and playing well, but sometimes Mother Nature wins,” Adam Ikamas, executive director of the Michigan GCSA told WMMT.
