Most recently, Kuhns served as director of grounds at the nationally ranked Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., from 1999 until his departure in 2019. He was an integral part of the club’s resurgence and success after reviving the course’s deteriorated grounds with improved infrastructure and operations after his arrival. During his tenure, Baltusrol hosted championship tournaments including the U.S. Men’s Amateur in 2000, and PGA Championships in 2005 and 2016

Kuhns contributed more than superb grounds maintenance and course conditions to Baltusrol during his time there. He also played a key role in improving the club’s financial health and success by realizing increased operating efficiencies, cost reductions and new opportunities for increased revenues and profitability.

Kuhns’ accolades include the George Hamilton Distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council and the N.J. Turfgrass Association Environmental Stewardship Award. He currently sits on the Rutgers Turfgrass Advisory Board, while previously serving as President of the GCSAA and Government Relations Chair for GCSA of New Jersey.

Kuhns’ history of leadership and excellence in the golf industry will help him forge Turco Golf’s efforts to expand its golf course building and renovation business. He will consult directly with course superintendents and turf management professionals to offer guidance, problem solving and recommendations for improved course maintenance and operations.

Coupled with Turco Golf’s proven track record for success in the golf course construction industry, Kuhns’ expertise will help superintendents and owners identify new opportunities for success by way of new construction and renovations.
