KemperSports grows management portfolio with addition of Old Tappan Golf Course
KemperSports has been selected by the Borough of Old Tappan in Bergen County, N.J., to manage the day-to-day operations at the Old Tappan Golf Course. The nine-hole club marks the seventh addition to the company’s growing portfolio in 2022.
“We’re excited to welcome another club to the KemperSports family and add to our diverse roster of managed properties in New Jersey,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “Old Tappan represents a great opportunity to expand the game of golf in a fun, inviting atmosphere.”
Old Tappan Golf Course opened in 1969 and in almost 40 years of continuous operation and has been nicknamed the “Jewel of Bergen County.” The golf club is enjoyed by both Old Tappan residents and regional members from surrounding areas across the Northeast. While the course will remain private, it will open for limited public play that the company believes will make the course more enjoyable and profitable.
“KemperSports brings to Old Tappan their proven track record of success in managing facilities across New Jersey and the Northeast,” said Old Tappan mayor John M. Kramer. “We are excited to have full advantage of KemperSports’ extensive hospitality and club management experience and work with its best-in-class management team to take the Old Tappan member experience to the next level.”
The nine-hole, par-35, walkable golf course features traditional tree-lined fairways and an intimate layout. The course is paired with a comfortable grill and restaurant with outdoor dining space, which is open to the public.
Old Tappan becomes the eighth facility in New Jersey under KemperSports management and joins a collection of courses such as Heron Glen Golf Course, Galloping Hill Golf Course, Rock Spring Golf Club and Skyway Golf Course at Lincoln Park West, among others.
