Honours Golf properties to use e-par EMS
Honours Golf, a golf course management company, has become the latest owner/operator to adopt e-parUSA’s Environmental Management System (EMS) for golf at all 17 properties it manages.
“For us, our commitment to develop an Environmental Management System across all our properties is not just an environmental decision, but a business decision as well,” says Jim DeReuil, director of agronomy for Honours Golf. “The e-par EMS will help our team efficiently identify areas of environmental risk and provide work plans and a process for managing them. This leads to cost avoidance, reduced environmental liability, and a culture that embraces responsible environmental management in and around the golf course.”
The e-par EMS for Golf is an online platform that is compliant with the international environmental management standard, ISO 14001:2004, recognized as leading-edge by the regulatory and environmental community alike. It allows the user to develop an environmental management plan for the golf course, clubhouse and pro shop operations. The platform’s “Plan-Do-Check-Act” framework helps ensure regulatory compliance, reduce the risk of environmental impact and enhance best management practices among employees.
“We are pleased to add Honours Golf to the growing list of multicourse owners and operators who understand the value that an Environmental Management Systems approach can provide to the art and science of golf course operations,” says Kevin A. Fletcher, Ph.D., president and CEO of e-par USA, Inc. “As is the case in hundreds of other industries around the world, the reliance on an EMS platform to reduce risk and enhance environmental management practices is inevitable in the evolution of golf course environmental management.”
