The Toro Co. and Toro distributor, MTI Distributing, have finalized an 11-year equipment and tournament support agreement with Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. Leaders from Hazeltine National and Toro gathered at the course on April 26, 2019, for a ceremonial agreement signing.

The agreement extends Hazeltine National’s partnership with Toro and MTI Distributing through 2029, providing support for a number of important future events. The 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, 2020 USGA Junior Amateur, 2024 USGA Amateur and 2028 Ryder Cup Matches will all take place at the course.

“This agreement is the next step in an ongoing relationship that started with Toro Irrigation back when we opened for play in 1962,” said Chris Tritabaugh, superintendent at Hazeltine National. “We have always been committed to maintaining the highest standards for players, and our partnership with Toro and MTI Distributing will help us deliver on that commitment for a long time to come.”

“For a championship course like Hazeltine, it’s critical to have equipment and support you can depend on,” said Tom Swain, president of MTI Distributing. “We understand that responsibility, and we are absolutely dedicated to making sure Hazeltine National has what they need to maintain the standard of excellence they’re known for.” MTI Distributing serves customers in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri.

Hazeltine National Golf Club was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones and later renovated by Rees Jones prior to the 1991 U.S. Open. It’s the only golf club in the country to host every premier championship offered by the USGA and PGA of America, and it’s the only U.S. course that will have hosted the Ryder Cup twice.

“Hazeltine National Golf Club has built an impressive resume of championships while delivering a premier member experience,” said Richard Olson, Toro’s president and chief executive officer. “It’s a testament to the entire Hazeltine team and the caliber of the course that they’ve been able to maintain and enhance over the years. We are truly honored that they have chosen Toro as their official equipment and tournament support partner.”
