Employee-owned Harrell’s named Steve Mercuri of the West Turf team as its 2021 Sales Professional of the Year. The Sales Professional of the Year (SPOTY) is the most prestigious award a territory manager can achieve at Harrell’s.

In addition to performance, the nine nominees were evaluated on more than fourteen leadership areas within the company’s core values and its four pillars: humility, gratitude, intentionality and accountability.

Mercuri joined the Harrell’s family in October of 2015 and from day one, he has proven his superior commitment to his customers, fellow sales representatives and family.

Managing one of the most fast-paced and competitive territories in the West, Steve not only understands how to manage sales that are constantly shifting, but also how to best serve his customers and make time to foster strong relationships. He is a territory manager in Los Angeles, Calif., and throughout his 27 years in the turf industry, he has never missed an opportunity to help everyone he works with to be successful.

“Steve has been a great sounding board for me and constantly asks me how the family is doing every time we speak,” said Geoff Johansen, West sales director. “Steve’s friendship and intentionality on a personal level has been a tremendous help and is greatly appreciated by myself and my family. Steve embodies Harrell’s core values and represents a rare combination of humility and drive that you don’t see from many people in our industry.”
