Maintenance budgets always are a fun topic, said no one ever. What is fun is seeing what maintenance budgets were between the early 1930s and the mid-1960s. It’s safe to say they were a bit lower in those days, with course expenses at one Midwestern course in 1937-38 hovering around $12,600 on average.

Looking to the present, according to Golfdom’s annual State of the Industry survey, from 2019 to 2020, the majority of budgets are expected to stay the same (52 percent) or rise (39 percent). And it’s probably a safe bet that they’re a little higher than $12,000. Read the full article below.
