Golf Maintenance Solutions partners with Capital City Country Club
Golf Maintenance Solutions (GMS) will provide golf course maintenance services to Capital City Country Club, in Tallahassee, Fla.
“We are excited to partner with Capital City Country Club,” says Dean Wochaski, CGCS, co-founder of GMS. “Our goal is to bring the course to the level of conditioning the membership and the course deserves.”
Wochaski and Dave Downing, the Southeast regional agronomist, will work together to provide a smooth transition for the employees and begin implementing the plan to elevate and maintain consistent playing surfaces.
In 1908, Tallahassee Country Club was organized and operated as a few holes of golf with sand greens. In 1924 the club officially incorporated. In 1935, the property was given to the city of Tallahassee. Golf course architect AW Tillinghast expanded the course to 18 holes. In 1956, the city leased the property to what is now the Capital City Country Club.
“Being able to care for a course that has been touched by Tillinghast is indeed an honor,” says Wochaski. “The topography of the land is unlike any course in Florida we have ever seen.”
