GCSAA Grassroots Ambassador Program reaches 500 participant milestone
The Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSAA) Grassroots Ambassador Program, an advocacy effort established in 2014, surpassed 500 members in 2023, representing 91 percent of congressional districts across the country.
The GCSAA says the program’s goal is to connect GCSAA members with members of Congress to build strong working relationships and improve federal policies impacting the industry. The program has established a network of committed volunteers to serve as “go-to” advocates for lawmakers and their staff on golf course management issues. GCSAA provides all the tools and training needed for becoming an effective advocate for the industry.
“Ambassadors are a key link between our industry and policymakers at the federal, state and local level,” said Rhett Evans, CEO of the GCSAA. “Their voices are crucial for the promotion, protection and defense of the golf industry, so we encourage all GCSAA members with an interest in advocacy to join this important program.”
The association recently awarded three participants with its Grassroots Ambassador Program Leadership Awards.
According to the GCSAA, there are still 48 open positions for the program.
