Frank Jemsek, owner of Jemsek Golf in Lemont, Ill., is the 2023 recipient of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) Donald Ross Award. The award, given annually since 1976, is presented to a person who has made a significant contribution to the game of golf and the profession of golf course architecture. Jemsek will receive the award at the ASGCA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee on Oct. 3.

Frank’s father, Joe, first brought Frank into the family business when he was 11 years old. Jemsek Golf is known for its work on several courses, including Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, Lemont, Ill.; Pine Meadow Golf Course, Mundelein, Ill.; St. Andrews Golf & Country Club, West Chicago, Ill.; and Summer Grove Golf Club, Newnan, Ga.

Jemsek describes his model as one that makes every course challenging for the advanced golfer and more friendly for the higher handicapper. Jemsek is an Illinois Golf Hall of Fame member and was the first public golf course manager to join the Club Management Association of America.
