FIFA extends turf preferred producer initative

By |  November 13, 2013

FIFA has extended its cooperation agreements with the preferred producers of football turf for world football’s governing body.

The preferred producer initiative for football turf was introduced by the FIFA quality program in 2009. In 2011, the number of FIFA preferred producers was increased to nine, up from the initial five, and once again nine companies will be part of the FIFA preferred producer initiative.

“FIFA has successfully extended its cooperation agreements with eight companies, whereas another has made the step up from licensee to FIFA preferred producer,” FIFA stated. “CCGrass will be the first China-based manufacturer with the title of FIFA preferred producer.”

The nine FIFA preferred producers, which have secured agreements for the next two years, are: Act Global, CCGrass, Edel Grass, FieldTurf Inc., Greenfields BV, Limonta Sport SPA, Polytan STI, Saltex Oy and Team Sports Australia.

The FIFA Preferred Producer initiative offers producers the chance to be listed as recommended producers for the correct installation of a football turf pitch. Preferred Producers are experts in football turf and must have already proven their experience in implementing the Quality Concept as FIFA licensees over a number of years.

Preferred Producers have in-depth experience in civil engineering and project management as well as all other aspects of installation, covering everything from planning and design to installation and completion and regular maintenance and care.
