Forest Dunes Golf Club in Roscommon, Mich., features a Tom Doak reversible design: The Loop. The two different course layouts, Black clockwise and Red counter-clockwise, alternate directions on a daily basis.

The Loop is the only reversible course of its kind using 18-green complexes, which are central to the unique design. Doak created green complexes that are approachable and interesting from 360 degrees, Forest Dunes says.

Rob Falconer is the head golf course superintendent of The Loop.

The course, which opened in 2016, was named Best New Public Course by Golf Digest and Best New U.S. Course You Can Play by Golf Magazine.

In May, July and August, golfers have the opportunity to play both directions in one day. The dual days include a two-person best-ball team event where golfers play one course in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Learn more about the event here.
