Course of the Week: Andrew Green to lead Grey Oaks CC renovation
Grey Oaks Country Club in Naples, Fla., is working with Andrew Green, golf course restoration specialist and architect, to renovate its Pine Course — an 18-hole par-72 course.
Grey Oaks identified the need to renovate the Pine Course to add tees, improve bunkers, widen fairways and create larger greens, all to help improve the aesthetics of the course, assist with course maintenance and elevate the overall golf experience for its membership.
After a comprehensive review process in 2019, Grey Oaks selected Green to lead the Pine Course renovation. He previously restored Oak Hill Country Club’s East Course, which recently hosted the 2023 PGA Championship.
Green has been onsite at Grey Oaks overseeing the course renovation, which began in February and is expected to end this month. After the grow-in period is completed from August to Nov. 2023, the course is anticipated to reopen for play.
In 2022, the Club completed enhancements to its short game area, also designed by Green, to provide more practice simulation for shot-making, instruction and simultaneous practice use, including Inrange technology.
