Bobby Weed is the president and founder of Bobby Weed Golf Design and co-founder of the HEAL Foundation. Weed’s youngest daughter, Lanier, is affected by autism and is non-verbal.

“We are so appreciative of our spirited and generous friends in this community,” Leslie Weed, co-founder of the HEAL Foundation, said. “Northeast Florida’s biggest winners are those directly affected by autism.”

The event included a scramble comprised of 76 area players, corporate partners and golf industry representatives.

“This year’s incredible turnout, over-the-top energy and robust sponsor support was a true testament to the northeast Florida community,” said Chriss Spires, president of the HEAL Foundation.

The event also included a musical performance by the Weeds’ oldest daughter, Haley (HAYL), who released a song dedicated to her sister. A percentage of the proceeds generated from streams of HAYL’s song, “You Can Say It All,” go to the HEAL Foundation.

In addition to raising money for the HEAL Foundation, $115,000 was also raised for iPads and tricycles in local schools. According to Weed, the foundation focuses on the use of tricycles because it gives students the ability and freedom to experience the independence of riding a bike.

In total, the HEAL Foundation has donated over $2.5 million in charitable giving, including 468 iPads, to area schools.
