Billy Casper Golf names its Superintendent of the Year
Billy Casper Golf (BCG) named Jason McIntyre of Fellows Creek Golf Club, Canton, Mich., its “Superintendent of the Year” at the management company’s recent regional meeting in Williamsburg, Va.
McIntyre was selected for the honor because of his “above-and-beyond performance in all areas of agronomic management.” According to a press release, specific examples BCG cite include:
- Impeccable course conditions significantly improved guest experiences
- A team-first approach cultivated the region’s most polished group of turf experts
- Adherence to a long-term strategy has positioned Fellows Creek for immediate and future success
- Solid business principles which maintained labor and operating costs below budget without comprise to product quality
“We are extremely proud of Jason and honored he’s part of the Billy Casper Golf family,” says Joel Gohlmann, senior vice president of BCG. “He is critical in helping Fellows Creek achieve financial growth by presenting a gorgeous golf course every day.”
BCG oversees all aspects of operations at Fellow Creeks’ three nine-hole, par-36 golf courses, situated 30 minutes west of Detroit. The course, designed by Michigan-based architects Bruce Matthews and his son, Jerry, consists of a 3,222-yard South Nine, 3,241-yard East Nine and 3,280 yard West Nine.
