Bayer Environmental Science, a business unit of Bayer Crop Science, will educate attendees about a new insecticide coming later this year at the 2020 Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando, Fla.

“The Bayer experience at GIS 2020 is designed to educate superintendents so that everyone can learn about our net insecticide innovation,” said Mike Hirvela, customer marketing manager, Bayer Turf & Ornamentals.

GIS attendees will be able to:

  • Experience a new Bayer insect solution through an interactive virtual reality experience that goes deep into turf to explore the life cycle of ABW and white grubs.
  • An Indemnify Living Turf display will offer booth visitors an opportunity to see the research results up close.
  • A new sponsorship for Bayer this year is Inside the Shop. Two educational presentations will provide stewardship and best practice insights. These are:
    • Wed., Jan. 29 at 1:45 p.m. “Best Management Tips for Setting up a Chemical Storage Unit” with Gary Ryan, grounds supervisor, Bayer Research & Education facility, Clayton, N.C.
    • Thurs., Jan. 30 at 11:30 a.m. “Stewardship and Label Interpretation” with Dr. Frank Wong, Bayer manager of public affairs and sustainability
  • Through the Bayer Superintendent Grant Program in partnership with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the Environmental Institute for Golf, Bayer is sponsoring 12 golf course superintendents with an expenses-paid trip to GIS. An emphasis has been placed on diversity and inclusion — embracing and encouraging individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent that superintendents invest in their work.
