BASF considers a counter bid for DuPont

By |  March 7, 2016 0 Comments

BASF SE, parent company of BASF Turf, is discussing with advisers and financial banks about making a counterbid for DuPont Co., that would disrupt a $130 billon merger agreement DuPont made with Dow Chemical Co. last December, according to Bloomberg.

The German-based BASF has not made a formal offer to purchase DuPont but check back with Golfdom for updates and what impact it might have on golf course superintendents.

The original deal between DuPont and Dow was followed last month by China National Chemical, a Chinese-government-owned pesticide and agrochemical company known as ChemChina, agreeing to purchase Switzerland’s Syngenta AG for $43 Billion.
