Architect Greg Nash dies at 66

greg_nash_headshotGolf course architect Greg Nash has died at the age of 66, the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) reports.

Nash’s notable golf course designs include: Anthem Country Club, Anthem, Ariz.; Club Terravita, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Sun City Palm Springs Golf Course, Palm Springs, Calif.; and Sun City Summerlin Golf Course, Las Vegas.

The Hays, Kan., native built his own design firm, Greg Nash Design, after receiving his degree in landscape architecture from the University of Arizona. Nash made his name by creating beautiful, playable golf courses that provide fun, fair challenges to players of all abilities while blending seamlessly with their natural surroundings, according to an ASGCA news release.

ASGCA members will remember Nash’s relentless attention to detail, an intimate understanding of the development process,and a knowledge of environmental regulations, which helped mold him into a respected, successful architect says the ASGCA.

Nash is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his children, Shawn and Rachelle; and two grandchildren.
