press release. “As our brand has grown, so has the need for strong communication and education for our end users and distributors. We are very fortunate to be able to bring an industry leader like Bill Brown onboard.”

Brown says in a phone interview with Golfdom that his new role he will be to unify the message and tie together all of the company’s brands, which include the Aqua-aid wetting agents, Verde-Cal calcium and potassium products, Worm Power Turf, Campey Imants equipment and Vredo seeders, “underneath the Aqua-Aid shield.”

“Our tagline is ‘common sense solutions,’ and if you think about all of the products we manufacture or partner with other companies to manufacture they’re not complicated,” says Brown. “They go back basic turfgrass management and there’s nothing fancy about that but the basics are what get you through. It is very exciting for me to get my hands on another project in the industry.” ”

“It’s vital we communicate quickly and clearly to provide turf managers with common sense solutions so Bill will have a busy and vibrant role on our team,” adds Green.

Brown is best known as the founder of Turf Republic, which he started four years ago to expand the use of technology among turf professionals, promote innovation and create an online community to share research and practical ideas around the world, according to a press release.

Prior to that, Brown was golf course superintendent at Hartefeld National GC, Avondale, Pa., and worked at other clubs in Pennsylvania. He’s also served in multiple chapter and GCSAA volunteer leadership roles. He earned his degree in turfgrass management from Penn State. Brown will continue to work from his home in Kennett Square, Pa.

Brown adds that everything with Aqua-Aid developed very quickly and there was never a plan in place if he were to take another job. He will still be involved with Turf Republic but he is stepping out of day-to-day operations.

Brown can now be contacted at 484-889-1548 or bbrown@aquaaid.com.
