Amguard to launch American Innovators program at GCSAA conference
Golf course superintendents are innovators by nature, demonstrating ingenuity and creativity every day to keep the golf industry running. In celebration of this work ethic – and the American spirit – Amguard Environmental Technologies will launch its American Innovators recognition program at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Conference and Trade Show, Feb. 5-10 in San Diego.
Throughout 2022, Amguard will invite golf course, sports turf and lawn care management professionals to nominate a peer by visiting their site here. Nominators can explain in 300 words or fewer and with up to two photos how their nominee demonstrates innovation in professional turfgrass management in one of two categories:
- Product use or cultural practices.
- Marketing and business management.
One winner will be awarded in each category.
“The American Innovators program is our way of recognizing golf course, sports turf and landscape industry professionals who push for excellence in all that they do,” said Shayne M. Wetherall, CEO, Amguard Environmental Technologies. “When we celebrate each other’s progress – our daily successes – we collectively inspire new breakthroughs, so it’s fitting to kick this off at GCSAA with many of our golf industry colleagues.”
Nominations open on Feb. 7, and turfgrass industry professionals can nominate a peer through June 30. The first two winners will be announced at the 2023 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show. Each winner will be awarded their own extra-large, Legacy Series wooden American “Flag of Valor,” handcrafted by American veterans.
Celebrating American Service
Amguard will host a partnership event during which it will sponsor Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program, which mobilizes complimentary pest, lawn and landscape services for military families through its network of volunteers. Amguard will present a $20,000 check to the organization during the event, to be hosted in the Amguard booth.
“Military families face many challenges when a loved one is deployed, and more than ever, they appreciate having healthy green spaces where they can relax, reflect and let their children play,” Cindy Code, executive director, Project EverGreen said. “Green industry professionals are creative and enthusiastic, so it’s no surprise to see them stepping up with great energy to support these families.”
All GCSAA attendees are invited to attend the Amguard and GreenCare for Troops Partnership Event (Feb. 8, 5:00-7:00 p.m.) and the Amguard American Innovators Happy Hour (Feb. 9, 2:00-5:00 p.m.). Both events will be hosted in the Amguard booth, No. 3722.
